Why a tool that uploads nothing

Most online converters work the same way: you upload your photo to a server, someone processes it there and hands you back a download link. It works, but it means your images — the ID you were about to attach, the photo of your kids, the company document — pass through a computer you do not control and stay there for however long somebody else decides.

Ilmara does the opposite: the conversion engine downloads into your browser and works using your own machine's power. Files never leave your device. You can check that in the simplest possible way: open the tool, switch off your Wi-Fi and convert anyway.

As a consequence there are no daily quotas, no queues, no watermarks and no conversion limits: it costs us nothing when you use it. The only limits are your own device's, and they are written on every tool.

What you can do here

  • Convert HEIC to JPG: iPhone photos, ready for Windows, print shops and web forms.
  • Convert WebP to JPG or PNG: the images you save from the web that then refuse to go into anything.
  • Compress images: by quality level or by target size (“get it under 200 KB”), with the saving on each file in plain sight.
  • Convert between JPG, PNG and WebP in any direction, resizing along the way.

All of them take up to 30 images per batch and can hand you the result as a ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

Is it really free?

Yes, with no catch. The tool runs on your machine, so we have no per-conversion server costs. The site is funded by discreet advertising, with no pop-ups.

Do I need to sign up or install anything?

No. It opens in the browser and works: no account, no extension, no software. It behaves the same on a phone as on a computer.

Where do my images end up?

Nowhere but your own device. There is no upload, so there is nothing to store and nothing to delete. Close the tab and no trace remains.

Which formats are supported?

It reads HEIC, HEIF, JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and AVIF (if your browser can decode it) and writes JPG, PNG and WebP.
